Construction work has begun on an upgrade to the Nogales International Wastewater Treatment Plant. The plant serves Nogales, Arizona, Nogales, Sonora and the Rio Rico area.
The $62.5 million upgrade will ensure the plant complies with all environmental quality standards, while helping to address the future needs of the area.
The Nogales International Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrade is a "design-build" project, a system of construction where the contractor is responsible for all aspects of a project's design and construction.
